Residential land in the city is scarce. Homes are
small. However, as can be seen from the overwhelming
response to the sleek, stylish, centrally located ICON
and Strata developments, city living appeals to a young
trendy niche market. For them, having the sleepless
city with its myriad of conveniences and non-stop action
at their doorsteps is irresistible.
Despite the constraints of planning for city living,
Far East Organization has been able to wield its 21st
century magic and unleash its creativity in these homes.
“Space is a premium in the city. Our design must
maximise every space that we have so that no space is
wasted. Owners have to feel that their purchase is value
for money,” says Mr Chng Kiong Huat, Assistant
Director of Project Development, Far East Organization.
Blending Manhattan style urban living with the buzz
of the local city scene, lofts are created at both ICON
and Strata. “Strata’s 6m high ceiling adds
100% more volume to the homes, making them look and
feel more airy and brighter. This design provides urbanites
with another distinction to urban living,” adds
Mr Tang Guan Bee, owner of TangGuanBee Architects, who
designed Strata.
Keeping in mind the active and busy lifestyles of
the professionals living in ICON and Strata, the designs
and finishes of the apartments are kept uncomplicated
and easy to maintain. “With the convenience of
living in the city, we expect the number of guests visiting
homeowners to increase. Far East Organization has thus
designed the living space and kitchen area with entertainment
as the focus. The two spaces are located side by side
with an open concept so that the host can still entertain
while preparing the meal,” says Mr Chng.
Understanding city dwellers’ yen for expressing
their individuality and independence, the apartments
come with a choice of different thematic concepts and
range of materials to suit homeowners’ tastes
and lifestyles. Homeowners have the creative freedom
to personalise their living spaces and transform the
interior into any style they choose. |
