Sino Land has introduced a short-term leasing package on a trial basis at Hong Kong Gold Coast (HKGC) to meet market demands for such accommodation.

“It has been a trend for many multi-national companies to send expatriates to work in Hong Kong on short term contracts in recent years. The number of mainland business tourists has also greatly increased since Hong Kong and mainland China signed the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement,” explained Victor Tin, Assistant General Manager (Leasing), Sino Land.

“We introduced this short-term leasing package in August 2003, to meet this demand. It has been very well received. At present the occupancy rate of Gold Coast is about 85%,” he added.

In addition to these two groups, this short-term leasing package also targets overseas visitors who do not wish to live in hotels, and local families seeking alternative accommodation while their homes are being renovated.
HKGC has two types of apartments for short-term rent, as follows:

Apartment Types Size (sq ft) Monthly Rental
Two-bedroom Apartments 700 HK$8,000 (S$1,700)
Three-bedroom Apartments 935 HK$10,500 (S$2,300)

Each apartment comes fully furnished, with paid cleaning service on request. For longer term lease, larger size apartments ranging from 1,950 sq ft to 3,540 sq ft are also available in the form of low-density beach houses with spectacular panoramic views of the sea. The ground floor units also come with gardens. Monthly rental starts from HK$28,000 (S$6,000) to HK$52,000 (S$11,500).

Hong Kong Gold Coast has been very popular with professionals who are attracted to its spacious and green environs. Residents who form this unique community include senior executives from Cathay Pacific, Walt Disney, Dragonair, Dragages, General Electric and Nokia, English teachers, civil servants, China businessmen and other expatriates.

Hong Kong Gold Coast development is located strategically at 1 Castle Peak Road in New Territories. It is surrounded by 10 acres of greenery including an organic farm and a butterfly garden. Besides the high-rise apartments and waterfront houses, this resort-like development also houses a five-star hotel, a private yacht club, and a shopping mall. The residents’ clubhouse has a gymnasium, swimming pool, seven tennis courts and other recreational facilities.

On weekends, residents enjoy Gold Coast Montmartre, an art promenade devoted to Western art and craft. It has become a popular spot with both local visitors and tourists.

Hong Kong Gold Coast is well served by public transportation. Central and the Hong Kong International Airport are just 25 minutes away.
