Changi Village Hotel was awarded the Energy Smart Hotel label for improved energy use by the National Environment Agency.

During the revamp of Changi Village Hotel in 2004 to reposition the hotel and increase its capacity, as part of its objectives to improve energy efficiency in its engineering operations, the hotel took the opportunity to replace its old diesel boiler and chiller systems.

With the installation of this new chiller the usage of electricity has been reduced from 1.2 KWh per tonne to 0.7 KWh/tonne. The system has improved energy intensity by 20 per cent, to the current 372 KWh per square metre of gross floor area.

Far East Organization's Central Engineering & Operations Department, which provides facilities management services to the Organization's nine million square feet investment portfolio, drives energy efficiency initiatives across the group's properties.

New initiatives in the pipeline include further improving chiller efficiency by using a German “ball clearing system” that unclogs condenser tubes, and experimenting with waterless flushing systems or using NEWater for cooling purposes.

The Energy Smart Building Labelling Programme aims to grant recognition to best practices in building energy efficiency. This stringent performance quality assessment system was developed by the National Environment Agency (NEA) and the Energy Sustainability Unit (ESU) of the National University of Singapore to bring the hospitality industry in line with Singapore's green strategies.

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore has been chosen as a Condé Nast Traveler Gold List hotel for an impressive fourth consecutive year, according to the results announced in the January 2008 issue of the highly respected US travel publication.

This prestigious annual list is based on information collected from the comprehensive Condé Nast Traveler's Readers' Survey conducted every October. To be eligible for the Gold List, travel related services including hotels and airlines had to receive a minimum number of responses in the survey.

“We are honoured that The Fullerton Hotel has once more been chosen for this accolade. As a young property, we are proud to stand among some of the best in the world. This will spur us on to continue to offer inspiring experiences to our guests,” said Mr Louis Sailer, General Manager of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore.

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore also won the “Best Accommodation Experience -Deluxe” award in the annual Singapore Tourism Awards presented by the Singapore Tourism Board in March 2008.

Since its opening in January 2001, The Fullerton Hotel has received numerous prestigious awards and accolades. Most recently, it was voted the Best Hotel in Asia by readers of Condé Nast Traveler in the Readers' Choice Awards 2006 and topped the Singapore category in Condé Nast Traveler's Gold List 2007. It was also selected as one of the Top 100 Hotels in the World in Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards 2007.

Whitewater is located on Pasir Ris Street 72. Its unique name is derived from the beauty of its popular location, Pasir Ris, well known for its sandy beaches with balmy coconut trees.

Designed by DP Architects to provide contemporary living in a modern resort setting, the architecture of Whitewater is kept pure and simple, shunning all excessive decorations and motifs. Traditional decorative elements or references to past architectural styles are omitted to produce architecture with smooth, unornamented walls and delicate, carefully proportioned facades. The exploitation of fenestration openings, groove line, texture and colour give visual interest and scale to the development. The detailing of such architecture is minimal yet immaculate.

The appeal and beauty of such architecture with its streamlined furnishings and exquisitely detailed simple structures served to produce the calm and elegant environment for the lush landscaping and water elements to thrive.

The Greek Mediterranean resort landscape theme characterised by the distinctive pool features further enhances the calm elegant environment of Whitewater.

Whitewater, which is Far East Organization's maiden executive condominium project, was completed in 2005.
