In 2007, Far East Organization completed 2763 residential, commercial, and industrial units. These included 366,000 sq ft of retail space occupied by 450 tenants in Central, Square 2 and Icon Village.

Far East Organization launched three residential developments last year. Jardin is a beautiful lush development in the “Hot Spot” residential area of Bukit Timah; Hillvista a distinctive family home is situated between the Bukit Batok and Bukit Timah nature reserves; and Waterfront Waves, a joint venture project with Frasers Centrepoint, stands facing the calm and tranquil Bedok Reservoir. Far East Organization sold a total of 868 residential and commercial units worth $1.19 billion.

In 2008, Far East Organization looks forward to continue serving the needs of our customers with our full range of real estate options.

From our hospitality portfolio, our 108-room hotel Quincy will be operational in the second half of the year. This is a hip hotel styled after the contemporary W Hotel. Located off Orchard Road, Quincy targets young well-travelled urbanites who appreciate exclusivity yet connectivity to the attractions of Orchard Road. Guests can expect to be delighted by Quincy's trendy décor and thoughtful service.

Far East Organization is committed to constantly innovating, creating effective use of space, and providing excellent experience and value for our customers. The Organization has a development land bank of 11 million sq ft in Singapore. In 2007 we further invested $1.15 billion to acquire new development sites that will yield some 2.7 million sq ft of buildable area. This was on top of the $1.58 billion invested to acquire 3.2 million sq ft of gross floor area in 2006. Our substantial landbank will enable us to meet the needs of different segments of the market with a variety of real estate products.

The Scotts Tower bears 2000 Pritzker Architecture Prize winning firm Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA)’s signature radical bold design.

The Scotts Tower is OMA’s first architecture project in Southeast Asia.  Meticulously planned, the project is strategically designed to maximise the full potential of the 20,000 sq m site at the intersection of Scotts Road and Cairnhill Road.

Four individual apartment towers are vertically offset from one another and suspended from a central core. The lifted apartment towers reduce the building’s footprint to a minimum; the liberated ground level provides generous space for communal leisure activities in lush verdant surroundings.

The Scotts Tower stands at a height of 153 metres. It has 67 luxurious apartments that are column free and could be individually configured to suit the very desires of the homeowners. The apartments are virtually alone in the tower and enjoy unobstructed panoramic views of the city centre, and the extensive green zone to the north.

Ole Scheeren may be the face of a new breed of architects. His works reflect not just his solid grounding of architectural training but also his talents in music, films, arts and graphic design.

The sum of what he brings to architecture can be seen in the completed projects for Prada which he led, and in The Scotts Tower.

The epicentre stores of Prada in New York and Los Angeles are examples where architects transcend the media of architecture. “I was responsible for all aspects of the stores, not just the architecture design but the aura, content, advertising, displays,” says Scheeren.

Scheeren also once said in an interview that he was interested in architecture not so much as built object, but more as what he would call organisational structures - complex systems of interrelations and interactions (source FMCS).

That is how he describes the spaces of The Scotts Tower, “free and flexible with different definitions and open possibilities.”

“As an architect I don't work for myself but for the people who are going to inhabit the space.”

Scheeren, 36, a German, has worked with Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) since 1995. He is responsible for OMA's works across Asia, including China Central Television Station (CCTV), and the Television Cultural Center TVCC in Beijing. He is leading The Scotts Tower’s design, together with OMA Associate Eric Chang as the Project Architect.

The Edge calls it “one of Singapore's most prized real estates” (The Edge 2 December 2007). This 650m Marina Bay waterfront precinct named The Fullerton Heritage starts from the historically rich Fullerton Hotel, to the funky Art-Deco Waterboat House, and trend-setting One Fullerton, to Singapore's latest heritage landmark - the Collyer Quay.

The Collyer Quay project undertaken by Sino Land will have three components. The Clifford Pier and Customs House will be conserved and refurbished into a lifestyle hub with luxury retail outlets and signature waterfront fine dining establishments. These architecturally distinctive historical legacies will be imbued with a new vibrancy that pays tribute to their historic pasts as a bustling trading hub and gathering points for business and social interactions.

Completing this project will be a six-storey luxury 100-room boutique hotel with full sea views. The Fullerton Bay Hotel will be managed by the Fullerton Hotels & Resorts, which also has The Fullerton Hotel under its stable.

Sino Land is also revamping One Fullerton into a distinctive waterfront F&B hub with destination restaurants and bars.
