A home to call my own
Gift of Love
But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.
At Far East Organization, we are obliged by our Christian values to seek the welfare of the city, support the causes of the needy and show love to our neighbours.
In grateful thanksgiving to God for the life of our founder Mr Ng Teng Fong, Far East Organization’s gifting initiatives aim to give back to the Singapore community in a way which also preserves the memory and honours the vision of our founder – to build an enduring enterprise, one that does good business and does good in business.
In 2011, a gift of $125 million was made by the Ng family to JurongHealth which was used to set up the JurongHealth Fund in support of needy patients, continued education for hospital staff, facility enhancements and research at the Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Community Hospital.
Apart from this, the Ng family also donated $52 million to help launch the Ng Teng Fong Healthcare Innovation Programme at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in 2014. The programme aims to improve patient care delivery through training and innovation across hospitals and institutions.
The Ng Teng Fong Professorship in Real Estate was established in 2013 by the National University of Singapore. This Professorship, supported by a gift from Far East Organization, seeks to attract outstanding academics in the fields of real estate economics, finance and research, with a view to equipping students for an increasingly sophisticated real estate industry.
A gift of $20 million was also made by the Ng family to National Gallery Singapore towards the Gallery’s research, curatorial and exhibition work, with a focus on outdoor presentations of commissioned art. The Gallery’s roof garden exhibition space, named Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden Gallery, showcases an annual Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden Commission series.
Through space philanthropy facilitated by the Government’s Community/Sports Facilities Scheme, Far East Organization has gifted purpose-built spaces at our developments for community use. These gifted spaces are located at Clarke Quay Central, hillV2, Junction 10, Novena Specialist Center, SBF Center, and Orchard Central.
Staff members of Far East Organization also participate in volunteering projects that contribute to inspiring and improving lives, partnering charities and non-profit organisations for the underprivileged, education and youth programmes, and initiatives that strengthen the family framework.
