Information on Far East Programme

Far East Organization is also actively expanding its real estate presence into Australia. As a developed economy with a well-regulated business environment and stable market conditions, Australia is an attractive location for earnings diversification and growth. This allows us to build a more balanced asset portfolio beyond the Organization’s Southeast Asian operations.

Far East Organization has established significant inroads into Australia. In 2013, Far East Organization's listed unit, Far East Orchard Limited, completed two hospitality-related joint ventures to extend its hospitality footprint into Australia. Far East Orchard’s hospitality arm, Far East Hospitality, has eight hotels in key cities in Australia, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, with two more new hotels in the pipeline in Sydney and Brisbane. Far East Hospitality also operates one of Australia’s largest hospitality management platforms through Toga Far East Hotels (TFE Hotels), offering more than 50 hotels under the brands of Adina Apartment Hotels, Medina Serviced Apartments, Rendezvous Hotels, Vibe Hotels and Travelodge Hotels.

In addition, Far East Organization has acquired several prime commercial properties in Sydney and Perth at an investment of about AUD$800 million. Properties include Watertown Brand Outlet Centre (formerly known as Harbour Town Centre) and 256 Adelaide Terrace in Perth, as well as the Clocktower Square, 227 Elizabeth Street, 50 and 54-58 Park Street, and 570 George Street (Ausgrid Building) in Sydney. Far East Organization also owns a 2 million sq ft site in St Helena-Greensborough, Melbourne, which it plans to develop into an integrated residential community.
