SILVERSEA, World Gold Winner, Residential (High-Rise) Category 2016

Far East Organization was once again awarded top accolades for two of its developments —Silversea and Discovery Walk on Orchard. They were awarded the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence’s World Gold Winners in the Residential (High-Rise) and Retail categories respectively. Discovery Walk on Orchard, which comprises Orchard Central, 313@somerset and orchardgateway, was also named with a World Silver Winner in the Purpose Built category. This marks the first time a Singapore real estate developer has received two World Gold Winner awards in a single year.

The annual awards recognise international real estate developments for excellence in all aspects of their creation, from architecture and design to development and construction, to finance and marketing. The awards also assess projects on their environmental impact and contribution to the community. Developments are evaluated by an international panel comprising top real estate professionals and experts.

With the latest honours, Far East Organization now holds 10 FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence awards across its property portfolio.

SILVERSEA

Sheathed in glass with balconies that twist skywards, the 383-unit Silversea, located at Marine Parade Road, offers floor-to-ceiling vistas of unblocked views of the sea. Sky promenades situated on the 11th floor bring sweeping views of the vast horizon within the reach of all residents of the development.

Silversea bears testimony to Far East Organization’s long-term business foresight and commitment towards creating real estate value and maximising the potential of a prime site. Addressing the needs and aspirations of a new generation of well-travelled and discerning homebuyers, the Organization transformed the once ageing estate into the vibrant Silversea.

Silversea attests to high-rise liveability in a high-density urban landscape. Taking advantage of its seaside location and view, its penthouses feature spacious roof terraces and double volume ceiling in the living rooms. Sixty per cent of the 220,000 sq ft site was freed up for lush grounds and provision of a full suite of amenities for the enjoyment of residents. Silversea has also contributed to the revitalisation and gentrification of the East Coast precinct in its neighbourhood, energising the living environment in the area.

DISCOVERY WALK ON ORCHARD, World Gold Winner, Retail Category 2016, and World Silver Winner, Purpose Built Category 2016

DISCOVERY WALK ON ORCHARD

Discovery walk on Orchard is a seamless complex of three developments — 313@somerset, orchardgateway and Orchard Central — that harmoniously combines shopping, dining, lifestyle experiences and public transportation. Although owned and operated by different companies, the buildings are interlinked at different levels, providing shoppers with sheltered connectivity within Orchard Road.

Discovery Walk on Orchard also offers space for community service and the arts, and embraces both sustainability and technology. With an eye on blending art and architecture, Orchard Central holds more than S$9 million worth of contemporary installation artwork. To integrate community service and the arts, a 13,000-sq ft dedicated facility — converted from a former car parking space at Orchard Central — was purpose-built and donated to The RICE Company Limited to support financially disadvantaged youths pursuing free arts training through The Business Times Budding Artists Fund.

Sky gardens on levels 11 and 12 at Orchard Central were created to provide social spaces for the community. Over at orchardgateway, library@orchard houses Singapore’s largest public collection of books on design and applied arts.

By offering stimulating, intelligent and engaging architectural design, as well as varied shopping, hospitality and an all-rounded lifestyle experience, Discovery Walk on Orchard has rejuvenated the city’s main shopping belt. It has created modern buzz within the area and continues to thrill a new generation of discerning shoppers.
